Charizard VSTAR pokemon cards
In this Pokemonblog, we are going to talk about all the Charizard VSTAR pokemon cards released in the last few years. The VSTAR Charizard line started in the Pokemon Sword & Shield era and unfortunately already stopped in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet era. Who knows, they may come back someday, but we can’t comment on that at this time. They are very nice Pokemon cards and they are very strong for in the Pokemon trading card game! Charizard also known as “Zard” among collectors is one of the very most popular Pokemon, perhaps the very most popular. Therefore, we write an article specifically about this kind of Charizard pokemon cards. Wondering which ones have been released? How strong these are? And how much these cost? If so, please read on.
All Charizard VSTAR pokemon cards at a glance
Especially for all Pokemon collectors and collectors, we list all Charizard VSTAR Pokémon cards. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, only 4 different ones have been released. The advantage to this in turn is that it makes the current VSTAR zards extra special. In fact, only a few were released. Hopefully more will be added in the future, but only time can tell. They go from top to bottom by value and rarity. Are you curious about how much your Pokemon cards are worth? For that, we created a special page the Pokemon Cardchecker. Here you can find all sets and cards with average prices attached!

What do we think of these VSTAR cards?
They are all beautiful cards. Surely our favorite is the rainbow Charizard VSTAR from Brilliant stars. But the special Charizard Ultra Premium Collection promo is also noteworthy, as he is in that image battling the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. They are really beautiful cards, unfortunately only the rainbow has much value.
How can I get these Charizard VSTAR Pokemon cards?
There are three ways to get these cards into your possession, we highlight them for you.
Way 1) Exchange
By trading your cards with other collectors, you can get your hands on these super cool Vstar Charizard cards. Be aware that swapping can be a tricky process. Especially when you do it online with someone through, say, a Pokemon Facebook group or Marketplace. We always make sure the other person sends the cards first so we can review them at home to make sure everything is correct. When everything is approved then we only send our cards to this person. The easiest way is to trade at a Pokemon fair or at the schoolyard, but then you will have to make an effort by bringing your collection to a fair.
Way 2) Buy
Purchasing the cards from another collector or Pokemon store is also possible, of course. Just make sure you look carefully at the condition of the cards and don’t overpay for them. Also, check out the reviews of this person/store carefully to avoid being scammed. Gradually you will learn where you feel most comfortable buying for example on Marketplace, Facebook, Ebay, Cardmarket and so on.
Way 3) Pulling
This is the most fun way, but can also be very disappointing. Pulling the Charizards themselves from the Pokemon booster packs remains the most fun. Only you never have a guarantee that you are actually going to get one out of the boosters. You can go for a loose booster pack, as well as a whole pokemon booster box, pokemon elite trainer box, pokemon boxes or do you go the safe way? In fact, the promo Charizard cards are guaranteed to be in a particular product. Consider the Charizard UPC, it already has 3 charizard promo cards in it by default! Personally, we really enjoy puling the charizard cards, but it can be frustrating sometimes when you open 100th booster packs and don’t get a Charizard out. Good luck with the hunt for the zards! Also be sure to check out our Pokemon deals page, here we put all the products that are on sale who knows you might score some great deals!
Will there be more copies?
Currently, unfortunately, only 4 copies have been released. We were just beginning to get used to the idea that the VMAX cards had been replaced by the VSTAR ones. But alas, before we realized it, the newest Pokemon generation Scarlet & Violet was already at our doorstep. This is where it came before to continue with the older EX cards, these came before in the EX era just after The Pokemon Company took over production in 2003 and with the XY era from 2014 to 2016. It is also nice to see that the older designations sometimes return in the future, this keeps us hopeful that the VSTAR cards will return to the rotation someday. But for now, unfortunately, we can’t tell you anything about that, because we don’t know ourselves either.
Is it wise to grade Charizard VSTAR Pokemon cards?
We ourselves have all four copies multiple times. For example, I myself have now sent the Rainbow Charizard VSTAR to PSA Cards in America five times. These will then be graded and I hope for many PSA 10s. So it is definitely recommended to grade Charizard Pokémon cards that have good centering and no whitening. But that also depends on your collecting goal, the potential you see in them and how they came out of the booster packs. I would say give it a try. Send a nice Charizard Pokémon card to PSA or Beckett and see what grade it comes back with. Who knows, maybe you will like it as much as it did us! But of course, you can also tuck them nicely into your binder and enjoy them by flipping through them from time to time. Remember well, there is no right or wrong we just give our opinion.
