A question we were increasingly asked, what exactly is a Pokemon store? A very good question, in this blog we will go into that and explain you all about this term. The term says it all, it is literally a store focused purely on Pokemon. You have them in two forms, online and offline also called physical. The online stores are like www.pokemart.be, an online shop purely focused on Pokemon items. You will only find Pokemon products on this website. The advantage, though, is that Pokemon is very broad. In addition, you have the offline (physical) stores. These are storefronts that possess only items of this subject. Unfortunately, there are not many such stores in the Netherlands. But mainly in the big cities they are spread all over the country, if you are a fan you will really enjoy it. Especially if they still have WOTC stuff in a display case. Wonderful that sentiment, highly recommended for all fans.
What can you find in a Pokemon store?
Of course, the assortment varies from store to store, but we’ll take a general approach for a moment. This is what you will normally find in a real Pokémon store:
– Individual booster packs
– Sleeved booster packs
– Booster boxes
– Elite trainer boxes
– Premium collection boxes
– Tins
– Decks
– Launch kits
– Toolkits
– Battle kits
– Blisters
– Sleeves
– Toploaders
– Deck boxes
– Binders
– Magazines
– Cuddles
– Figures
– Stickers
– Pens and pencils
– Cups with Pokemons on it
– dvds
– Gameboy games
– Books
– Puzzles
– Mats
– Posters
– Headphones
– PokemonGo stuff
And so on, this list can be added to endlessly. This was just to give you an idea of what you might find there. So Pokemon is much more than just the cards. It is the largest fan merchandise on the planet, so there are lots of diverse products with a Pokemon image on them! We can only advise you to visit a real store that has the focus on this.
Online and offline differences
In an online store you can order your products online, in an offline store you will have to physically go in and checkout at the cash register. Some people prefer to shop online, while others prefer to visit their local store. That is entirely up to you, however, we can contrast the pros and cons.
You can order online very easily from the comfort of your living room, but on average it takes a few days before you actually receive the product. It may also get lost in the mail, or delayed for whatever reason. When you go to pick it up in a physical store, you will have the product in your hands immediately once you have paid for it. But you have to get it to your house yourself, if it is a small product this is no problem at all. But did you just buy several cases of elite trainer boxes from the latest series of Shining Fates? Then I wish you good luck with playing all those big boxes home. Then my preference would still be to order nicely online. But everyone decides that for themselves.
Conclusion
We hope you now know exactly what a Pokemon store is, further, there are both advantages and disadvantages to shopping online and/or offline. And there are very many shops that do not focus purely on Pokémon but do sell items from them.
