We’ve been hearing it more and more lately, is the Pokémon hype over? But just the opposite has happened thanks to the Pokémon Celebrations 25th set, among others. There is even more hype than there already was at the beginning of 2020. Many more collectors have joined and more and more people are getting to hear something about the value of Pokémon cards. This is because nowadays every news channel, radio station and newspaper writes something about the Pokémon tickets. On top of that, more and more influencers are joining the hype. They already have a mega reach and thus influence their viewers/fans to also join this hype. In this blog, we discuss this in detail.
Why is it that sealed Pokémon products are in such short supply?
Sealed products means dense products that are still in the store. Think elite trainer boxes, booster boxes, collection boxes but also all other products that are still closed. Do pay close attention to which product you are going to buy in our shop, because each product has a different number of sealed Pokémon booster packs. But anyway now back to the question, because more and more collectors have joined, there are also more packages being opened. So there is too much demand for packages and not enough supply. Usually when a store refills their shelves they are empty the same day. And also the online shops have very little in stock because everything is bought up en masse. And then you always have the group of people who want to make a nice little money out of this. They buy up the products en masse so that they sell out at a particular store and then start offering them online for more money. So all of this together makes it extremely difficult for Pokémon stores, because it’s no fun when you never have stock and see continuous disappointed kids coming into your store. Anyone who doesn’t know what Pokémon is at this point is really living under a rock. Indeed, in recent weeks it has been continuously in the news, as well as on the radio every day and on every other media form you can imagine. Pokémon is trending topic, and the tickets are becoming more and more valuable. Interviews are regularly given by famous Pokémon collectors and traders on TV or radio. And more and more media outlets are eager to tell you about this hype that is going on right now. For us, of course, this is only nice to see, as we are big fans of Pokémon ourselves.
The arrival of the 25th anniversary set Celebrations
Pokémon Company has done a very smart job of releasing a super nice and nostalgic set for their 25th anniversary. This contains not a few, but 25 secret rares. These are not ordinary secret rares like we are used to but replicas of the most popular cards through the 25 years. The Base set holo Charizard, one of the most popular cards of all time is also in there with a reprint. But not just the Charizard, the entire big three have been given a replica. Not to mention the super nice Umbreon goldstar that used to be released in the pop 5 series. This set is for everyone to enjoy and gives so much nostalgia to the older collectors. That does bring joy to everyone, and that’s nice to see. We can already say, even though this set has only been out for a few weeks that it is the most popular set of 2021. For this we can only give our compliments to the Pokémon Company. The only downside is that the sealed products of this set are very hard to come by. Luckily for you, we still have some items in stock from this set.
