Did Logan Paul buy $3.5 million worth of fake Pokémon cards ?

The news that is gripping the Pokémon world. Did Logan Paul the famous influencers and Pokémon fan/collector buy a fake case first edition booster boxes for $3,500,000? It’s been going on all week, all the major players have something to say about it. And a lot of research has been done by major players in the Pokémon world. A few things stood out about the photo he posted on his Instagram story. He has since indicated that he will work with BBCE experts to explore the content. They are the company that approved the authenticity of the box in the first place. In this blog, we discuss it in more detail.

The price of the sealed case and its sales history

The sealed case was first spotted on Ebay in March 2021, as it was for sale here. The strange thing about this in particular is that it had a $72,000 price tag on it at the time. Many collectors at the time thought it was very strange, a sealed case of 6 first edition Pokémon base booster boxes for only $72,000? Yet someone was foolish enough to buy this sealed case at the time for the amount requested. After that, the case moved at a rapid pace. A new buyer for an undisclosed amount became the new owner of the case. This American then resold the case for $2,700,000. And this last person eventually sold it to Logan Paul for $3,500,000. Bizarre if you ask us. So there were multiple owners and the price literally flew from 72,000 to 3,500,000 in six months.

Why does everyone think this case is fake?

One of the very largest websites in the Pokémon world devoted an entire article to it. Namely Pokebeach, click here to read their article. We list everything for you:

  • – Something is wrong with the label and barcode on the case. The product code states “WOC060331E“, where it should normally be “WOC06033“.
    – Tape around the box is the wrong way around and wrong font.
    – Font on the case is different from other known cases.
    – Label is too dark, it should be unreadable after 22 years.
    – The text that accompanies it does not belong to the barcode.
So all in all, there is a lot of evidence that speaks against Logan Paul.

Closing

So it looks like this is a fake case. But further investigation by the experts will have to rule this out. Logan Paul has indicated that he will open the case soon, as all of the above points have been noticed on the outside. The inside has not yet been examined. We hope for his sake and for the sake of everyone in the Pokémon world that these are real booster boxes. After all, no one would enjoy being scammed for $3,500,000. So always be careful about the purchases you make from strangers or unknowns. We advise everyone to buy your cards from www.pokemart.be, a shop with only real Pokémon cards.
